The Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement was introduced on 5 November 2011 to help improve the integrity of the student visa program.
In order for you to be granted a student visa, you must satisfy the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) that you have a genuine intention to study in Australia temporarily.
